1) Banners plugin installation:

     a) log into your Subrion Admin Panel

     b) go to Extensions -> Plugins -> Available Plugins tab -> change the Mode (at top right) from 'Local' to 'Remote'

     c) choose the Banners plugin and click on 'Install' button (download icon at right).

2) Banners Plugin configuration:

     a) go to Extensions -> Banners

     b) click on 'Config' button (at op right)

     c) click on 'Add Block' button near the needed position (position where you want to have the banner block)

     d) set up all the config's values and push the 'Save' button. Once it's done you will see the message with the green flag: "Changes Saved."

     e) click on Edit (pencil) icon near the 'Without title' phrase

     f) fill the value of 'Title' field and click on 'Save Changes' button.

3) Banner adding process:

     a) go to Extensions -> Banners

     b) click on 'Add' button (at top right)

     c) choose the needed banner block (which you created on the step#2) for 'Banner block' value

     d) fill all the needed values and click on 'Add' button

     e) Once it's done you will see the message with the green flag: "Banner added."

Here you are.

Note. By default the block with banner will be shown on every page of your site based on the Subrion CMS.

To avoid problem with upgrade process in future it will be better to copy Skeleton (default) template and make all the changes in copied template files instead of make changes in the Skeleton template files.

In order to do it you need to:

1) copy the default template (skeleton) from ../templates/ folder to ../templates/ folder.

2) rename copied tempalte folder to the needed name (for example, mytemplate). Template name should contain lowercase Latin letters and underscores only

3) open

      a) .../templates/mytemplate/install.xml file - for 3.2.x and above versions,

      b) ../templates/mytemplate/info/install.xml file - for 3.0.x and 3.1.x versions   

     and replace all the 'skeleton' words with 'mytemplate' word in any place where you will find 'skeleton'

That's it! Now you can start modify copied template files without losing them during upgrade process.

We updated our website on 1st, June 2012 and we are happy to introduce one significant feature. It's the possibility to upload your own plugins, templates, or languages and share them with the rest members of our website. You can set a price for them and sell through our website so you get instant immediate access to the thousands of webmasters using Subrion CMS. Sounds good, doesn't it?

So what steps do you need to take to release any of addons?

1. Login to esyndicat.com under using your account
2. Click My Account in the Account Menu
3. Switch your Account Type. You should choose the following option: 'I will release my own addons here and want to sell them through the website'
4. You must fill in your paypal email. We will use this email account to send the money for your sales.

Once you click Save Changes you should click Manage Products menu item and make sure if you really have a software license.

On Manage Products page you can see a new element in Account Menu - Manage Addons. You can click it - it's the page where you manage all your information about your released addons, sales, and payments.

How to pack your custom addon?

As we have mentioned you are allowed to release templates, plugins, and languages. Here are the detailed instructions how to prepare your files for release.

Languages

Subrion CMS exports language files in MySQL with the .sql extension. You should pack your sql file using any ZIP archive program. Your language file should be named as Language_subrionversion.zip, no dots allowed.

Examples:

Dutch_214.zip, Russian_210.zip, Chinese_200.zip, Polish_221.zip

SQL file inside should have the same name, except extension. So you must have Dutch_214.sql inside Dutch_214.zip archive, etc.

Templates

In order to prepare subrion template you need to pack your template folder. You've created a custom with the name 'examplesite', so you need to create  new zip file and it should contain folder 'examplesite' inside and it should contain tpl files. Please pay attention to your install.xml file content as it's used for template installation and display on our website. It should contain correct information.

Plugins

Plugins should be packed using the following conventions:

{pluginname}_v{pluginversion}_{releasedate format MM.DD.YY}.zip

You should put plugin folder inside this package.

Below you can find some examples:

testplugin_v1.0_04.03.12.zip contains folder testplugin

alertpay_v2.3_03.29.12.zip contains folder alertpay

Please pay attention to the plugin XML file. It should contain correct information.

Payments

You can set a price for your released addon and sell it through our website. Once you have a sale you can see it in your Manage Addons -> Financial Info section at subrion.com website. We will make payouts monthly. The Subrion Team takes 20% comission of each sale. The funds are sent to your paypal email at the reach of $50.

Note: Please make full backup of your Subrion Database & Files before proceed with the update!!!

To update plugins you should adhere to the following steps:

1)      Go to subrion.org -> Plugins page.

2)      Select the needed plugin or try to search it by using the Keywords filter.

 

3)      Click on 'Download v3.x.x' button at the left and download the latest version of the plugin.

4)      Once the download process is completed you should have the file with a name like 'name_of_plugin.zip'.
 
        Unzip this file and upload the content of the appeared folder to /plugins/ folder located on your web server. (This will overwrite the old plugin files as needed)

        We encourage you to use FTP protocol to upload the plugin related files to your server.


5)      After the plugin related files are uploaded you may go to your Subrion Admin Panel and see the newly uploaded plugin is displayed in the Extensions -> Plugins -> Installed Plugins section.

6)      To update recently uploaded plugin you should press the 'Upgrade' button at the right.

7)      Once the chosen plugin is updated you will see the message with the green flag: "Plugin updated."

Here you are.

NOTE#2. During upgrade plugin process you will lose all the changes (custom modifications) done in plugin files. You will need to make all the needed changes (custom modifications) again manually by yourself.

There are several steps you need to perform to install any plugin:

You can also install any plugin for the Subrion CMS via 'Local plugins installation' method.

Files upload.

1. Download the needed plugin from http://www.subrion.org/plugins/

2. Unpack it using any packager that supports ZIP archives
3. Rename the folder with plugin files from 'plugin_name_plugin_version' to 'plugin_name'.
Example: rename 'privatemessages_3.2.0' folder to 'privatemessages' folder.
4. Upload all the files from unpacked 'plugin_name' directory to your subrion directory ../plugins/ folder.

Admin panel installation.

1. Login to your Subrion admin panel
2. Go to Extensions -> Plugins
3. You should see your uploaded plugin in the 'Available Plugins' tab
4. find uploaded plugin and click on 'Install' button. 

Example: find the 'Premium Radius Search' plugin and click on 'Install' button.

That's all!

NOTE. If you want to install the Premium Radius Search plugin then you will not find this plugin in the appeared list of plugins in the 'Available Plugins' tab. You need to follow the instruction below:

In this article I will try to cover Subrion Templates installation.

Starting from 3.1.1 version Subrion CMS has the 'Remote Template Installation' feature.  It allows to install any available template in seconds.

There are several steps you need to perform to install any template:

1) log into the Subrion Admin Panel

2) go to Extensions -> Templates

3) choose the needed template and click on 'Download' button

4) after template files will be downloaded click on 'Activate' button

That's all.

NOTE. Some templates are designed specifically for certain packages. So please be careful when choosing a template for any package. For example, Corked template is designed for YP package only. You will not be able to install this template to the site with another package.
