    I see ROOT cat locked, still showing up in cat dropdown list to the user...
    I do not want to show that to my user?

    How can we accomplish this???

    There is a way to hide ROOT in our software.

    Open "/packages/publishing/submit_article.php" and find the following code:
    Code (Text):

    $cat_tree = $iaArtCommon->getCategoriesTree(isset($_GET['category']) ? (int)$_GET['category'] : $article['category_id'], false);
    change it to the following code:
    Code (Text):
    $cat_tree = $iaArtCommon->getCategoriesTree(isset($_GET['category']) ? (int)$_GET['category'] : $article['category_id'], true);
    That should help. Please let us know the results please.

    Thank that worked, but this would be a default feature....

    One more thing may be a suggestion

    The Drop down category option list, the subcats are not clearly marked as subcats they have a little indent but my members are not realizing that those are subcats can we do a litle better visual display for category drop down list option on adding article page????

    Completely agree with you, we will try to make that dropdown more clear. It's really not that easy to see the tree structure now. Do you have any clean example where this implemented perfectly?

    Well, like your Esydicat script... It is very nice... not saying should be that complicated but it is nice..

    May be an indent image right befor cats and subcats???

    Nothing has been done with this yet?

    I have set up a couple categories, and yes, I understand this post now :)

    Advertising [Root]
    Business [Root]
    Classified Advertising [Sub to Advertising]

    (and the sub appears at the bottom of the list)

    Since this is not looking good at the moment...

    1: How do I remove subs from appearing on the home page
    under categories; If they are not going to look professional, then
    I think it be best to remove the subs as they can be seen on
    their own page anyway when you click on a root category.

    2: How do I prevent anyone from posting in root categories?
    I want people to be able to post in sub categories, not root.

    Even something similar to goarticles.com would do...something
    to clearly establish Root Categories, and sub categories...
